Hair Loss Treatment for Man: What is Available and More!

Hair Loss Treatment for Man: What is Available and More!

by Timothy Garth

Loosing hair is something we definitely do NOT like. Unless you’re actor Patrick Stewart or something like that, being bald is not something that would favor us men. Being bald really affects our game with the girls, right guys? I know how you feel. Not only because they might not like it, but because we don’t feel comfortable, making us loose our charm. Baldness is a definitely a Gamekiller.

Counter Attacking Hair Loss

But fear not friends, baldness won’t last for ever! Countless of scientists and investigators are continuously making incredible effort to produce a hair loss cure. As of now at least three easily identifiable hair loss treatments for man can be found in the market. Without taking into account every single brand or type of pill offered, you can find chemical and natural treatments.

I personally prefer natural treatments because I don’t like drinking chemical substances since they always tend to come with an unwanted side-effect. A natural hair loss remedy also works for hair loss in children. Besides those two, there’s the most successful treatments of all, hair loss transplants. This is a surgical process in which one part of your scalp, that has hair, is removed from its position and placed on a spot where you don’t have hair. However, this is a very expensive treatment and I would only consider it in extreme cases of hair loss and well, of course, if you got the money.

And There Is Yet More To Come!

As of 2004, scientists have discovered a way to multiply hair as a hair loss treatment. It basically consists of taking stem cells from healthy hairs, multiplying them, and implanting them into dead zones; reason why this treatment is also called hair cloning. Nonetheless, progress on this new treatment for hair loss has been very slow and the first products are estimated to hit the market by 2009 or 2010.

After trying many hair loss remedies Timothy Garth finally found one that worked for him and would like to share his hair loss treatments with you so you don’t have to take the long road in looking for something that works.

8 Natural Remedies You Can Try To Stop Hair Loss and Help Hair Growth

If you suffer from hair loss or thinning of hair and  look for ways to stop hair loss and help hair growth, here are 8 remedies you can try.

  1. Take about 10-15 minutes to massage the scalp before going to bed. Rub your hands till quite warm. Begin from forehead, massage your way down to the nape. Repeat .Good massage stimulates the blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles in the scalp. Make it a habit. Do it every night, over time, you’ll find remarkable result. Not only does it help stop hair loss, but it helps hair growth. You’ll have shiny healthier hair.
  2. Head Stand (this is my favorite) - stand on your head and keep it for 1- 5 minutes if you can. If you can’t do it that long, a few seconds will do. You can gradually increase the time when you feel more comfortable with the posture. It helps increase blood circulation to the scalp, thus promotes hair growth. A word of caution, for people who have certain conditions, this posture may not be suitable. Consult your doctor before you begin.
  3. Cut five thick slices of ginger. Put them in a pot of water. Bring it to boil. Keep it boiling for 10 minutes. Rinse hair with the water when it becomes lukewarm. It helps prevent hair loss and promote hair growth.
  4. Drink cucumber juice daily. Cucumber is a fantastic source of silica. Silica is important for hair health. Daily cucumber juice intake helps prevent hair loss and promote your to hair grow healthier.
  5. Apply Aloe Vera jel directly to the scalp. Leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse. Twice a week. Aloe Vera has been long been known for their beneficial effects to hair health and hair loss prevention. It helps the scalp by healing it and its balancing the pH level, thus making the scalp a better environment for your hair.
  6. Soak one ounce of ground rosemary, two ounces of ground sage, and a half ounce of ground nettles in one pint of ethyl alcohol for a week. Strain the solution and add one ounce of castor oil and one ounce of water to the liquid. Apply the solution at night before bed or before shampooing. Rosemary and sage are herbs that promote a clean scalp, stimulation of the hair root, and thickening hair.
  7. Put a few drops of vinegar into warm water. Rinse your hair with the water. Vinegar is thought to have a normalizing effect on the scalp’s oil glands and pH level as well as having a strong cleansing effect. This practice can prevent hair loss and help hair grow healthier and thicker.
  8. Mix one teaspoonful of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water. Take it with or between meals. For hair loss caused by a tissue salt deficiency, apple cider vinegar can supply the deficiencies where needed, thus help re-establish a natural balance and help hair grow.

Choose whatever you like to give it a shot and stop hair loss.

Hair Thinning, Loss and Restoration: What to Do

Hair Thinning, Loss and Restoration: What to Do

by Willie Jones

Everyone experiences hair loss as evidenced by the amount of hair that you see on your brush or comb. There are three stages to normal hair growth and the individual hair follicles go through each one.

First is the Anagen phase. In this phase about 85% to 90% of hair is in the growth phase. This will last anywhere from 2 to 6 years and hair can grow as much as a half foot per year although it has been known to grow longer than that in some cases.

The second is the Catagen phase. This is a transitional phase where the about 2 to 3% of hair follicles shrink, and at the base of the hair follicle, the dermal papilla separates itself from the hair follicle. It is the job of the dermal papilla to get nourishment from the blood stream to the hair.

The third stage is the Telogen phase. This is the resting phase that lasts for about 5 to 6 weeks. During this time the hair does not grow and the dermal papilla is still in its resting phase. Some of the hair will be pulled out of the scalp through shampooing or brushing. At the end of the resting period, the hair re-enters the Anagen phase and hair growth begins again. When the dermal papilla reconnects with the hair follicle, if the old hair has not been released, it will be pushed out with the new growth.

It is normal to lose up to about 100 hairs per day but when you are losing more hair than usual, you need to pay attention.

There are several forms hair loss can take.

Alopecia areata is a condition that both men and women can experience and it manifests itself as a small balding spot. It is believed to be an auto-immune disease in which the body considers the hair follicle to be a foreign substance that it must attack. In some cases it is a temporary situation that can correct itself but most people need to address the situation. A physician can prescribe certain drugs to remedy the situation. But changing to a good diet and taking supplements like A and D, E, C, B-complex, especially B6, Q10, Evening Primrose, Calcium, Magnesium, and herbs such as saw palmetto, sage, rosemary and pau-de-arco can be very beneficial. You can also use a topical solution like Minoxidil to precipitate hair growth,

Androgenetic Alopecia is when the enzymes 5 alpha reductase converts the male hormone testosterone, into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This causes the hair shaft to shrink more and more with each resting and growing cycle. The end result is the eventual loss of hair. This is usually genetic and can often be treated successfully with Minoxidil.

Telogen effluvium is a temporary hair loss that occurs from some kind of severe stress such as, major surgery, child birth, starting or stopping birth control pills or even dieting drugs. This stress causes a premature resting phase that can last up to 3 months, and then the shedding begins. When the cause of the stress is no longer affecting the individual then hair can go back into the growth stage and the situation can correct itself.

Anagen effluvium is different from telogen effluvium in that hair loss occurs very quickly due to exposure from radiation or chemotherapy in cancer treatments. Unfortunately, the side effect is immediate hair loss, sometimes happening overnight or coming out in clumps. The good news is that once the radiation or chemotherapy is completed the hair growth usually begins again.

Hair loss can be combated, especially if you catch it early. Be educated about the subject and take control of the situation. Between you and your physician, hair loss can often be significantly reduced or handled.
