Hair Loss!! I am only 19 =”(?
Question by justme: Hair Loss!! I am only 19 =”(?
people, I need your help. I can not afford any programs or specialists or doctors.. I don’t have that kind of money. I hate going to the doctors.
I have been noticing that I am losing my hair. It makes me cry every time after I wash my hair. My hair is pretty and naturally smooth. My hair is the one of the things that I like most about myself.
My dad has thin hair. I took that from him. My mom has thick hair and she is starting to lose it just a little bit cuz she’s going thru the menopause stage which is normal.
With me, its not normal. Its upsetting me cuz I just turned 19.
There is NOT any bald spots that are noticeable.. it’s just when you look at my hair from far, you can tell that I have thin hair.
Mom says that it is like that because I use a straightener.. but I only use it once every two weeks or sometimes once a week.. the normal..
What do you think I can do to stop it??
Any natural solutions?? Anything that you have tried and worked??
Please tell me. I really need help.
It’s affecting my mood and selfsteem.
I looked at so many sites.. the causes and the treatments… they’re usually just pills or shampoos.. products that you buy from the internet using credit cards. I can’t do that. If you know of a product that I can buy from a store like Walmart or any other store, please let me know.
This is very important to me so please dont kid around or give out info that your not sure of.

I am usually stressed in my relationships. I am still suffering with the one guy that I love who apparently does not love me back– but I am working on it– helping myself let go.
I am also stressed when it comes to studies. I am a hardworking student. I go to college and I study hard.
I do NOT work… so stress coming from that.
Recently my mom was in the hospital but now she’s out and better. While she was in the hospital, I didn’t really take care of myself and overall health.
Also my mom is going thru a divorce.. from my dad aboviously. I am doing all the work for her. She depends completely on me while she goes out to work her put off to support me and my brother.
That is pretty much my life and how it has been for the past year. that might help I hope..?
Guys, I am trying to help myself. Guide me. I don’t want to go bald!! I want my hair to grow back and be back to healthy and kind of thick as I used to have it.

Been there hun, you do need to see a doctor. Being deficient in vitamin K will cause hair loss. You would need a blood test to check for this and other possible causes. Stress will cause hair loss along with a host of other problems.
Also, certain autoimmune diseases will cause hair loss, those can also be detected by blood tests.

Stop using straightener. Isn’t it obvious that this is the problem?

Hey,
Just to let you know, I am also 19 and a college student.
Anyways, I really think you should ask your mom or dad to make an appointment with a doctor. You HAVE to go because of the fact that doctors will know a lot more than your parents or yourself. That is why they are there- to help people. Go to a doctor whom you might think knows the most about hair loss. It’s important to go see somebody who knows.
Good luck though!!!!! I really wish you luck!!! Going to a doctor would be the best thing to do!!!

I think it’s stress. What you need to do is meditate and relax everyday for at least ten minutes.

sweetie, losing your hair at this age means you’re HELLA stressed. A natural way to get it to stop–calm down. Take yoga classes. Free up your schedule. Go to a counselor. Something in your life is stressing you out. Cool down.
Other supplements that might help are some protein tablets–they’re what vegans take to get protein. They help your hair grow longer, stronger, and thicker. Good luck!

If you recently got your hair cut, or have long hair, do not worry about a little hair loss. Also, you may want to get a simple blood test done to see if your T3-T4 levels are ok. May be a thyroid problem which can cause serious problems.
If you are not overweight or unhealthy in any other way you have nothing to worry about.

if you have anything in your house thats real gold rub a line across your cheek to see if it leave a blueish line.
if it does you’re anemic and you need to take iron.
try eating massive bananas and read meats before you go to the doctors or something.
good luck!

Unfortunately it might be in your genetic history. If your dad got thinning hair early on you might to. OR it could be your hormones. My sister’s hair had started thinning ALLOT on the front on the top and she has some testing done and found out she had to much male testosterone and not enough female estrogen. She is only 20. This does not run in our family. They put her on birth control to help the hormones and are also going to do some other treatments later on. She noticed excess hair on her arms and legs ( like more then normal) and was very moody with allot of mood swings and became depressed. I know you said you can’t afford a specialist or doctor BUT she is working as a hairstylist and does not make much money and was able to afford to go with her insurance through work. Sorry I hope things get better for you!!

don’t do nothing to your hair, no solutions, no straightener, no dye, and no hair spray, just wash your hair with shampoo no hair conditioning. dry hair with towel. and no hair dryer. Comb hair and no brush. cut dead ends If you can try to braid hair every-night and take a vitamin E everyday.
